Real Resumes for Engineering Jobs by Anne McKinney
Prep Publishing | 2004 | ISBN: 1885288425 | Pages: 181 | PDF | 5.23 MB

Those who seek jobs in the engineering field will find this book to be a valuable resource! Civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, nuclear engineers, computer engineers, structural engineers, marine engineers, industrial engineers, chemical engineers, systems engineers,
and engineering support personnel have a lot of common when they create a resume, and this book shows resumes and cover letters of individuals who want to find work in the field. No matter what industry or type of work, this book will provide a competitive edge to those who seek employment which involves engineering responsibilities. For those who seek federal employment, there's a special section in the book showing how to create federal resumes and government applications.

Advanced Control Engineering by Butterworth-Heinemann

Advanced Control Engineering by Butterworth-Heinemann

Advanced Control Engineering provides a complete course in control engineering for undergraduates of all technical disciplines. Starting with a basic overview of elementary control theory this text quickly moves on to a rigorous examination of more advanced and cutting edge date aspects such as robust and intelligent control, including neural networks and genetic algorithms.

With examples from aeronautical, marine and many other types of engineering, Roland Burns draws on his extensive teaching and practical experience presents the subject in an easily understood and applied manner. Control Engineering is a core subject in most technical areas.

Problems in each chapter, numerous illustrations and free Matlab files on the accompanying website are brought together to provide a valuable resource for the engineering student and lecturer alike.

The Dynamics of Marine Craft: Maneuvering and Seakeeping (Advanced Series on Ocean Engineering, 22.)" by Edward M. Lewandowski

The Dynamics of Marine Craft: Maneuvering and Seakeeping (Advanced Series on Ocean Engineering, 22.)" by  Edward M. Lewandowski
World Scientific Publishing Company; 1st edition (December 2003) | English | 9810247559 | 300 pages | PDF | 13.46 MB

This book presents a theoretical treatment, as well as a summary of practical methods of computation, of the forces and moments that act on marine craft. Its aim is to provide the tools necessary for the prediction or simulation of craft motions in calm water and in waves. In addition to developing the required equations, the author gives relations that permit at least approximate evaluation of the coefficients so that useful results can be obtained. The approach begins with the equations of motion for rigid bodies, relative to fixed- and moving-coordinate systems: then, the hydrodynamic forces are examined, starting with hydrostatics and progressing to the forces on a moving vehicle in calm water and (after a review of water-wave theory) in waves. Several detailed examples are presented, including calculations of hydrostatics, horizontal- and vertical-plane directional stability, and wave-induced motions. Also included are unique discussions on various effects, such as fin-hull interactions, numerical stability of integrators, heavy torpedoes, and the dynamics of high-speed craft.

The book is intended to be an introductory level graduate text and a reference for the practicing professional.Download

Target Detection by Marine Radar ,John Briggs

Target Detection by Marine Radar ,John Briggs

Radar is a legal necessity for the safe navigation of merchant ships and, within vessel traffic services, is indispensable to the operation of major ports and harbors.
Target Detection by Marine Radar concentrates solely on civil marine operations and explains how civil surveillance radars detect their targets. There are numerous diagrams and worked examples to help the reader understand the principles underlying radar operation and to quantify the importance of factors such as technical features of specific equipment, the weather, and the ability of the operator.
