Kisho Kurokawa - Selected and Current Works

Kisho Kurokawa, "Selected and Current Works"
ArcaEdizioni | English & Chinese | February 25, 2002 | ISBN: N/A |
Kisho Kurokawa has always aimed to create an architecture of, what he calls, 'the age of life' principle, which employs the concepts and vocabularies of life systems, biology and ecology. Simultaneously, his intention when designing a structure is to address how cultural identity can be incorporated into contemporary architecture so that people everywhere will understand it. These two demanding challenges do indeed breathe life and bring meaning to his varied and distinctive portfolio of work, a selection of which is featured in this book.

Jacques Derrida, Peter Eisenman, Chora L Works

Jacques Derrida, Peter Eisenman, Chora L Works
Monacelli | 1997 | ISBN 1885254407 | 214 Pages | PDF | 57 MB

Chora L Works documents the unprecedented collaboration, initiated in 1985, between philosopher Jacques Derrida and architect Peter Eisenman on a project for the Parc de la Villette in Paris. Woven into the volume are discussion transcripts, candid correspondence, and essays, as well as sketches, presentation drawings, and models. Derrida and Eisenman's design process was guided by Plato's chora text from the Timeaus; their unique reciprocal relationship was an interchange - and transformation - of voices.

Charles Correa

Charles Correa, Kenneth Frampton, "Charles Correa"
Thames & Hudson | 1997 | ISBN: 0500092680 | 271 pages | PDF | 100 MB
The architectural and urban planning solutions of Charles Correa, the brilliant Indian architect, effectively combine traditional spiritual and symbolic themes with the environmental and cultural demands of a modernized society. They have gained him a global following. His projects have been as wide-ranging as they are impressive: low-rise, low-cost, high-density housing, entire townships and extensions to major cities, but also many individual buildings, such as the Gandhi Museum. In addition to the architect's own presentation of his ideas, Kenneth Frampton provides an overall assessment of his achievement, and this model study of an increasingly influential figure is completed by a detailed chronology and bibliography.

Not exactly for the weekend bird house builder. Charles has abilities beyond description. A must have for any enthusiast!
